The Passion That Became Upper Limit

Every company has a story. Some of those stories have launched into pop culture, such as the founding of Facebook, Apple, and Microsoft. These companies were founded in the garages of individuals who had a passion and used that passion to form some of our most notable products and companies in the 21st century.

Upper Limit Aviation may not be as well-recognized as Apple, but our founding does have the same passion behind it that led to its founding by the mother and son CEOs who remain at the company's helm today. The founding of Upper Limit can be traced back to co-founder Lois Reid's childhood, where she watched her parents build aircraft in the family's backyard. Her father was a veteran pilot during World War II and her love of aviation is a family affair. Her husband was a commercial airline pilot as well.

Lois opens up about her story and how she and her son built a company that is dedicated to serving veterans and pilots across the country. She shares the hardships her family has endured, but how the love of flying was unwavering and continues to lead Upper Limit Aviation today.

You can read more about Lois' story here.

The Iron County Search and Rescue team met with +Upper Limit Aviation - Cedar City for some training in aircraft support. Because airplanes and helicopters can be a valuable asset to search and rescue teams across the country in cases of missing persons, natural disasters, and other emergencies, more and more teams are recruiting help from the air.

Because the members of search and rescue in Iron County must be re-certified every two years, this year provided the perfect opportunity to do some additional training with one of the nation's top flight schools. To learn more about this event, read the full article from Iron County Today.

Up, Up and Away in Cedar City

+Upper Limit Aviation - Cedar City continues to exceed expectations at +Southern Utah University

Our flagship semester at Southern Utah University (SUU) has marked a lot of firsts for our team and pilots. We continue to grow and exceed projections as we plan for future semesters. The partnership between Upper Limit Aviation and SUU has been a huge success and we look forward to continuing to work with pilots to help them achieve their dreams.

Read a preview of the full article from +Spectrum Media:
CEDAR CITY — When Upper Limit Aviation and Southern Utah University first combined efforts to launch a flight school, they projected only about 30 students per semester would take part. But with one semester now behind them and currently well into the second one, their numbers have more than quadrupled those initial expectations.
Beginning the fall semester, the university and the aviation school launched a program for students that includes pilot certification along with the option of either an associate’s or a bachelor’s degree. Read more

Global Professional Helicopter Pilot Spotlight: Antarctica

Global Professional Helicopter Pilot Spotlight: Antarctica

Global Professional Helicopter Pilot Spotlight: Antarctica
Antarctica is perhaps the last real frontier in the world, so it’s fitting that helicopters, a vehicle made for explorers and highly skilled individuals, would have gained such a foothold as they have. Antarctica calls a certain type of individual. The conditions are extreme, but still, the jobs are difficult to get, but not because work is scarce. On the contrary, helicopters keep Antarctica running smoothly in many ways. Bases in New Zealand, Australia and South America, as well as many offshore ships, regularly run missions to Antarctica. While the US Coast Guard flies many missions, plenty of important jobs are contracted out to private companies. Helicopter pilots must be highly skilled in the best of conditions, but in the icy wild wonder of Antarctica, a pilot’s skills must be unparalleled. Upper Limit Aviation (1-855-HELIEDU) can train professional helicopter pilot students to make their Antarctic dreams come true.

Opportunities for Professional Helicopter Pilots in Antarctica

It might not be an exaggeration to say that Antarctica may be the only truly unique place on the planet. The unique circumstances posed by the conditions in Antarctica necessitate the assistance provided by a range of helicopter careers. Tourism is popular with boats coming near to the shore and then sightseeing expeditions being led from the boat and around the ice drifts and land mass. Professional helicopter pilots may transport scientists and personnel from McMurdo airport to any number of places so that they may do experiments that they would otherwise be unable to do in places they wouldn't be able to reach. There is a lot of special equipment and cargo that could not be transported without the assistance of helicopter pilots.

Professional helicopter pilots in Antarctica must be able to handle a range of factors, including managing the way the temperature, altitude and weight of their equipment handles in these radical conditions as well as to perform special maintenance on their helicopters each morning to ensure that they are working properly. Helicopter Pilots in Antarctica must check in every 30 minutes or a search and rescue party is sent out.

If you are interested in working in the beautiful, alien landscape of the world’s most isolated continent, call 1-855-HELIEDU.

Demand for Pilots

Industry analysts report massive growth across the board for helicopter jobs. We have arrived at a historically significant moment for the helicopter aviation industry. A confluence of factors has emerged to reveal a wealth of opportunities for helicopter pilots who begin their helicopter flight training now. Upper Limit Aviation is prepared to offer students the opportunity to receive exceptional helicopter flight training to meet the demands of a booming aviation industry.

Visitors to the HELIEXPO 2013 HAI Job Fair discovered that a range of domestic and international companies are seeking trained helicopter pilots in record numbers. Interested parties should begin helicopter flight training soon in order to sieze these unprecedented opportunities.

The last forty years has seen a helicopter industry populated with pilots trained during the Vietnam era. It's a mathematical inevitability that those pilots are now reaching retirement age en masse. Those pilots are vacating some long held jobs and freeing up opportunities in the aviation industry. Additionally, the forecast for growth in the helicopter industry at large has resulted in a massive domestic and international pilot shortage. This year will see a record number of helicopters purchased by companies, and the next five years are expected to see similar growth.

There is simply not enough pilots to fill all the jobs that are available. Future pilots who are interested in an aviation career must consider the benefits of helicopter training at Upper Limit Aviation. Call Upper Limit Aviation at 1-855-HELIEDU to discuss the potential benefits of starting training soon.

As more and more companies continue to find new ways to use helicopter pilots to improve the efficience of their operations, more pilots must be trained in order to fill those jobs. Help yourself by exploring the range of opportunities available to those who pursue helicopter pilot training at Upper Limit Aviation.
